Tablet manufacturing is an important process in the pharmaceutical industry. Tablets are a commonly used form of medication and are made by compressing a powder mixture into a solid form. The process of tablet manufacturing involves several stages, including formulation, granulation, compression, and coating. Formulation is the first stage of tablet manufacturing, which involves the selection and combination of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients. The APIs are the active ingredients in the tablet that provide therapeutic benefits, while excipients are the inactive ingredients that help to bind the tablet and improve its physical properties. Granulation is the second stage of tablet manufacturing, which involves the mixing of the powder mixture with a binder to form granules. The granules are then dried and screened to ensure uniformity of size and shape. Compression is the third stage of tablet manufacturing, which involves the compression of the granules into tablets using a tablet press. The tablets are then inspected for defects, such as cracks or chips, and rejected if necessary. Coating is the final stage of tablet manufacturing, which involves the application of a coating to the tablets to improve their appearance, taste, and stability. Coating also helps to protect the tablet from moisture and light as well helps to mast taste and appearance for patient compliance.
